Hey there guys! It's been a while since I've been around, but I wanted to get some community suggestions!

Product:
-EDC "Penlight" Styled Flashlight

Minimum Required Specs:
-Roughly 5-6" Length Body, sized to fit in a standard duty breast pocket
-Tailcap Switch
-Pocket Clip
-*Compatible with Rechargeable Batteries*

Price is no object here, I just want a high quality product.

This is a very inexpensive option but I carry the streamlight sylus pro. Its about 6 inches long. It uses two aaa batteries. You can also look at the protac from streamlight which has a higher output and a slightly beefier design. However, the stylus pro puts out enough light for everyday chores and I have been carrying it for over half a year and it has stood up well. It has a tailcap switch and can be bought for around $20.

Foursevens Preon P2 or PenLight. Basically the same light, just with different styling.

I used the single AAA Streamlight for a while, it proved to be very reliable and durable and had 'just right' 34 lumen brightness.

It's been replaced with the new AAA powered Surefire Titan-A, it's got a 15 lumen low mode with a 125 lumen high mode. The beam is very floody so it's great for getting around in the dark, and it comes with a rechargeable AAA battery. I tossed the rechargeable battery, modern LED lights are very efficient and lithium cells are safer and more powerful. The Surefire lasts 17 hours on low mode, compared to the 2 hours of runtime from the Streamlight.

The Streamlight Stylus Pro is a really good value and compact functional light that works fine on NiMH rechargeable. It also has a momentary on switch which is uncommon on penlights and very useful. I carried one for years as an EDC light and it never let me down.

Downsides of the Stylus Pro are the single mode output and lack of regulation, but if you run off rechargeable I don't see that as a big deal due to a relatively flat discharge curve and mid range output level, and the tailcap switch is a little stiff to click into always on mode, but that stops it turning on in your jeans pocket if you ever carry it like that.

I also have a Nitecore MT 06 penlight, which is a higher spec light with a nicer fit and finish, and is regulated with hi / low modes, higher maximum output, glass lens etc. I only used this for a few days after I got it though because the tailcap switch is too soft, it turns on so easy it had come on in my pocket and was flat when I really needed it.
