Well, I had finally had enough of my Izula flopping and flipping around loose in my pocket in its traditional kydex sheath, I dont like to wear it on my belt due to NYCs law that a knife must be concealed, IWB is just plain uncomfortable and I'm not into neckers, so.... decided to take matters into my own hands :D

Been using it for a week now and its just perfection.

Its thin as heck, sits perfectly and doesnt flop or print at all in my front pocket, even with khakis - youd have NO IDEA it was in there when I have my shirt tucked in. When untucked, I've also been carrying in my back pocket with my wallet - it fits perfectly with my wallet and I dont even notice it.

Not the prettiest, but, here she is:

In front pocket before I push it all the way in:

In back pocket coupled with my wallet - it rides a tad odd in these specific jeans because the pockets are so low...:

Enjoy!

Thanks guys :D

I need to clean up the edges a bit next time Im upstate and have access to real tools - only power tools here are just a drill, dremel and heat gun.

That's a pretty good idea. Make the sheath large enough so when stuffed inside your pocket there's no room left for it to bounce around, and it's really thin too. Good work!

Pure perfection !
The wide square sheath stays in position.

is it easy enough to resheath the Izula using only one hand ?

Wow! You should think about making some more of those. I bet some people would love to have one of those!

Nice! Let us know if you do make more. I've been trying to figure out a good way to carry mine in the city - especially with summer coming.

Nice job, looks very functional. Do you have any problems with the sheath trying to push up and out when you sit?

Very cool.I like the style, even if it prints a bit it doesn't have an obvious blade shape.I might try to make myself something similar, probably from leather.

Does the sheath stay in the pocket when you draw the knife? How about if it is in your back pocket? Is it a PITA to resheath, since you'd have to remove the sheath to replace the knife?

Hey guys - thanks for all the kind words!

Yep I've had that wallet for about 8 years now - bought in Kenya at an ostrich farm and love it.

On the questions:

The sheath stays in the pocket when knife is drawn. And yes it sheaths easily back in and after some practice you do not need to take the sheath out at all to resheath - the retention is good but isn't too tight so that it's a pain to snap in - had to fiddle w the heat gun to get it goldilocks!

Might take some practice to resheath w out looking when carried in back pocket - but you can just guide the point into the sheath pretty easily with a finger.

You do not need to hold the sheath to put the blade back in - it stays in the pocket...

If Florida for the weekend so am on my cell phone and apologize if I missed any questions!

As for selling some - that's a great boost to the ego and I think I just might once I am 100% happy w the size and quality - like I mentioned in NYC I don't have an easy way to smooth the edges out other than sandpaper and can only do this at our place upstate...

Oh forgot to add - seen a few kydex sheaths w a "hook" cut out that can catch ones pocket to hold the sheath so resheathing is easier - I think it was on our own Hoopsters excellent izula sheaths where I saw this feature - I might try cutting a pocket hook into this sheath to see how it works, and w Hoopsters permission, maybe put them on the ones I sell, if I get that far...

I think I might even make one that has minimal or no retention at all and acts just like a simple kydex pouch sheath so its even easier to resheath, or maybe with just a snap that goes over the top - who knows - being creative and trying new things out is 99% of the fun in making sheaths :D

That looks very nice. That's a great idea for rear pocket carry. How does it perform when in sitting? Does the sheath have enough flex & strength that you wouldn't need to worry about it? I drive several hours each day with repeated getting in/out of my truck so I am worried about how this would perform under those type circumstances. Great work btw!
