EDC Plain vs Serrated?

I am going to purchase a EDC either in 154CM or D2.
I also can't decide on a plain or serrated (Partial) blade.
Does anyone have any comments or suggestions?
Thanks

Ditto that. When I first started, I used to like getting serrated blades, but now I buy nothing but plain edged blades unless I am buying the knife specifically to cut something like rope. On that note, the knives that I keep in my car are almost always serrated for cutting seat belts in an emergency.

I always buy plain edge baldes. Much easier to sharpen, and cut better, unless you have some specific need for a serrated blade, such as cutting rope.

As for the steel, 154CM is a good steel in my experience. It will take a good edge, and hold it well, and is also pretty stain resistant with the right finish(ie not bead blast). At around $50 for the 154 the knife is a great bargin(I don't own one yet, but most other knives in this price range use a lower quality steel).

Don't have much love for serrated edges... sharpening is hard enough in my book without factoring in serrations. So far, I love all the D2 blades I have.
Have fun choosing though.
