I went to a GunShow today with intent to buy a Emerson Commander. Well I got my Commander but then I went and asked the guy to see the EDC and now I WANT ONE TOO! This is one sweeeeeeeet knife. Now the question is how do you tell which has the 420HC blade or 154CM blade. I wanna get the 154CM but I don't know how to tell. I'll be back at the show tomorrow to pick one up and the best part is they go from this guy for $30 bucks. :D

Thanks for any help folks.

NIB,
The 154 CM will have it stamped 154 CM on the blade just after the CUDA:D

Gotcha,
These didn't have anything on the blade saying what they were so I take it there 420HC.

Thanks!

I too would take the 420HC for $30 and laugh for a long time. So, maybe you spend an hour longer over hte life of the knife sharpening it? Nobody's ever offered to pay me $30 for my leisure time.

The 420HC EDC really is a great bargain. It's dirt cheap, is a very efficient cutter, and has great styling. To tell you the truth, the design really makes the difference. I can think of a few 154CM knives that don't cut as well as the 420HC EDC. The blade design goes a long way towards making it an awesome cutter, no matter what steel is used.

NIB,

For $30.00 jump on it whatever steel it is. I use mine almost everyday and have for about 4 months now. Mine is the 420HC version. Don't peel rocks with it but I do cut cardboard, plastic bands and things of that nature. I have not yet touched up the edge and it still shaves hair.

You will be glad you got it. It is a great EDC. :)
