Well I'm new to the forum but not the knife community. I'm trying to decide on a new at least somewhat colorful (trying to break out of the sea of black g10) EDC knife to get that isn't a Spyderco this time. I love the ones I have to death but I'm trying to branch out. Anyway I'm trying to limit my budget around 120$ but I would go a bit over if it really struck my fancy. I'm aiming for anything in the 3"-3.5" blade length range. Locking mechanism isn't super important but a functional blade with at least adequate edge retention would rock :D Let me know what you guys think!!

Check out Benchmade's Custom Shop(Grip, Mini-Grip, Barrage are all options), lots of color options, and I think they are doing a free Blade graphic, if you like, all October.

Have you looked at the Benchmade Griptilian? They come in multiple handle colors, have pretty good ergos and all of them have some sort of great blade steel. Recently the ritter grips started coming with M390, which is a phenomenal choice for EDC.

I have looked into the griptilian, I had a mini and it didn't fit my hand super well so I've been debating getting the full sized version. If the customized ones are reasonably priced that may be what I go with.

I picked up a ZT550 and had a custom scale made up for it, (G10it). The 550 with a scale will put you well over budget but He does many other knives too, some that could work in your budget or slightly over. Look into it before you decide!

How 'bout one of these... should stand out a bit from the standard black G10... :)

That blur is absolutely amazing!! What blade steel is it in? and As much as I want one of the ZT's they're a little bit over budget for now. I'm looking at getting a 0801 at some point because I can't think of a knife that would be better suited to getting anodized for some color.

Welcome to BF!!!!
You can always take one of the Spyderco's you have and get a custom scale made as colorful as you desire.

How about an Enzo Birk 75 in curly birch? The blade is just a hair shy of 3", but it makes for a very handsome and practical EDC. It's also something a bit off the beaten path, which can be kind of fun.

That Blur is a recent limited run. S30V blade steel w/ high flat grind, anodized blue aluminum handles, and silver twill inserts. It also falls right within your budget at $119.95 from Kershawguy.
