EDC rotation, came up with this idea out of boredom, some knives gathering dust ;)

Decided to go with this as my EDC rotation

M-F work week, Queen small stockman cocobolo scales, Benchmade 707 sequel (I don't wear a suit, but I try to dress in a nice button down shirt or polo, and a nice pair of dress jeans or khakis, to me, the 707 is a kinda dressy knife. Putting way too much though into this.

Saturdays, Spyderco Native III and the Queen stockman

Sunday, usually out riding the roads, sometimes take my Benchmade Apparition, the Queen stockman, and either the 707 or Native III in lieu of the Apparition.

at home, either my Manix, Ritter Grip, or Military, doing a lot of outside work this spring, and foresee a lot this summer. Go walking/hiking a lot recently, and would like to get an old Endura for that.

I've got too much time on my hands. Any of you knuts use your EDC's on different days. Just shaking things up a little bit...

I don't no about "too much thought" but you are for sure organized. big time.
my idea of edc rotation is try to pick a different knife every now and then. the leek or a buck 55 usually go to church. hunting is for the sodbuster and my somewhat modified{or ruined opinions vary} sharpfinger. work is for the 889, crkt m-16,buck 110. everything else lately has been sodbuster. so mine is not really a rotation it's more of a grab something and go. later, ahgar

I have been EDC my Native or 806 D2 on work days and weekends my small sebbie works its way into my pocket

I usually just walk out the door wearing both my knives... When my benchmade arrives monday I will be wearing 3 knives :).

I spend countless hours choosing my knives for the day. A couples of days ago I went to the presentation of a book about knives which makers and some big time collectors were going to attend as well. I was so nervous about my knife choices! I felt like a gittery schoolboy getting ready for school.

For me, putting some thought into what I'll carry everyday is just another fun thing that I can do with my hobby.

Today I settled on a Mikro Canadian from Bark River, my new 154CM Griptilian, a green Victorinox Climber (I'm going to a couple of parties, SAKs are the ultimate party knife!) and a Swisstool spirit.

small sebenza or large, For the past year I've just carried large with jeans and small one with shorts.

This and a Spyderco Native during the week. (currently)

On the weekends, when I go outside, I carry one of the two on the left and a folder. during the week, one of them is always in my bag.

I have more knives on the way that might change the equation.

I always have this, too.

I'm pretty consistant with my EDC. For the past four months it's been a Benchmade 710, with a Victorinox Soldier in my left pocket.

Lately though if I'm not working I'll drop my old maroon micarta Buck 503 in my pocket instead of the 710. I don't see any reason lugging the big knife around if I'm not really going to need it, and the 503 is still plenty of knife and good lookin' too.

If I'm going out to eat, I put my Kershaw Hawk in my pocket. It's the perfect folding steak knife and doesn't need too much maintenance other than washing it off and drying it (ATS-55 blade, steel lined G-10 scales).

The Soldier is always there, though. I've had plenty of different EDC knives, but the Soldier has been the constant for the past three years. It's my food prep knife for daily eating chores.

At work, my EDC is my Atwood Solar Arc, in a kydex neck sheath that Peter made for me. The weekend EDC is: Small Sebbie , Mnandi and sometimes Umfaan. Or Delica 4 & Ritter Mini-grip, or Combate Elite & Firetac or Adventura & Spin. It depends on my mood. I have several knives that I rotate for my home/weekend EDC. Lately, I have been EDCing CRK's.

I always try to mix it up. I have almost 100 knives, SAKs, and multitools, and I try to give almost all of them some pocket time.

Some days I keep it simple and just bring a knife. Some days it is a knife or two and a SAK. Maybe just a SAK. Or 3 knives and a multitool. Maybe a clipped folder, a SAK, a slipjoint, a multitool and a neck knife. It just depends on where I am going, what I am wearing, and what I plan on doing.

At work I will tend to bring good work folders, or fixed blades. Examples are Strider SMF, Spyderco Military, Benchmade AFCK, Victorinox Super Tinker, Buck Short Nighthawk, Ka-Bar Warthog, Leatherman Charge Ti. These knives/tools are pure users. I don't mind scuffing them up on a pallet and I squeeze by, and I don't mind them getting dirty and inky. I also wear jeans and a belt to work, so weight and size isn't much of an issue. I can carry a Skirmish in my pocket no problem, with a Leatherman on my belt and a SAK riding at the bottom of the pocket below the Skirmish. At work I can also carry a fixed blade without sending people running.

But when I am just out and about I often wear shorts. This makes a fixed blade less practical (no belt), and I would probably attract a lot of attention with a fixed blade if I was wearing jeans that day. In shorts weight and size are an issue. And in public, sheeple-friendly is a good thing. So a Manix is now too big, heavy, and scary. A Buck Mayo TNT or William Henry Titan is now my choice. Outside of work I don't have to worry about ink and dirt, or scuffing on a pallet. So my more "fancy" knives get used when I am just out and about. They tend to be better for the sheeple, too.

Sometimes I am in the mood to carry something expensive. Sometimes I want a high-end knife in my pocket and even something "cheap" like a Skirmish, 710, or Manix will not do.

Sometimes I am not in such an elitist mood and a SERE or Skirmish is what I want.

Sometimes I am really not in a knifey mood but want or need a knife (I *NEED* a knife for work), so I will carry something inexpensive like a Native or Leek to "save" my more expensive knives from getting worn and dirty.

I will sometimes bring a flea market junker as a knife to lend out, or to use for very messy tasks that I don't want to put my good knives through. This is only sometimes, though. Usually I would rather hand someone a good knife and have them think "Man, Brandon is really into high-end knives" rather than "Why did "the knife guy" at work just hand me junk?". I also consider all knives as users, so I often like putting my expensives knives to task at dirty or hard jobs that most people would use a beater for. But sometimes, when I am not in such a knifey mood, I would not get as much joy from using one of my better knives, so I might as well use a junker and just get the job done.

A lot of it has to do with picking what is appropriate for the day ahead. A "load out" for one day might be inappropriate for another day. That is why I like such a variety of knives. Dress folders, large beefy folders, small beefy folders, small fixed blades, large fixed blades etc.... Sometimes I want just a William Henry Titan in a slip/clip case clipped to my shorts (or slacks). Some days I want a Strider SMF, Leatherman Charge Ti, Victorinox Super Tinker, Becker Necker, and Ka-Bar Warthog. Though, that is probably excessive :D

And sometimes it is just a matter of mood. Sometimes I am feeling "tactical" and prefer the performance and ruggedness of an SMF to some namby-pamby all-for-looks dress folder. Sometimes I am feeling very classy and prefer a sleek, stylish Mnandi to some cheesy, immature ninja knife.

I like variety!

For the most part, I've stayed pretty well with the same rotation for a few months now. When I get a new one, it gets put into my cargo pants pocket and used to see if it moves to "regular" or "occasional". Only one that made it into the regular group in the last little while has been my Delica 4. Delica 3, though still rides in my cargos:) I have a Buck Northshore on the the way and hopefully will see it tomorrow. We'll see on that one.

I've been doing renovations on a rental property for the last few weeks, and the two that I've used very hard have been the Bryd Crow/PE and Endura 3/FRN/CE. Weekends/yardwork - extras to the regular carry will be Gerber EZ-OUT and Gator.

And how, I go through pocketknives like crazy, carry on pattern for awhile then switch. Every so often, I sort out ones that I haven't carried for over a year or 2, and give them to friends that don't have a pocketknife.

I also usually have a different carry on weekends than I do during the work week.
M-F:
1. usually a BM 440, sometimes a 525
2. SAK or carbon steel slipjoint

Weekends:
1. Large folder. Could be a 710, 520, 730, Emerson CQC-10, Spyderco Police, the list goes on.
2. SAK or carbon steel slipjoint

Aw heck, my carry changes daily. At least. Sometimes I'll swap out my carry config when I get home from work...

These days, I either carry A) a multitool, locking folder and slipjoint; B) SAK and folder; or C) slipjoint alone, when I wanna go light. I have a Gerstner chest on top of my dresser, with a drawer full of multi's and SAKs, two drawers of folders, and three small drawers of slipjoints. Every morning, it's like an old Chinese take-out menu: one from column A, one from column B, and maybe one from column C. (Haven't got an eggroll yet... :D )

Been trying different routines to how i select and it always ends up the same 5 that get carried...looks like its time for the left to right pattern again....

Lately it's been Endura 3, left front; 710D2 right front, Cold Steel Skean Dhu
(the old one - nice blade IMO) - fully serrated - in my EDC shoulder bag, and in right jacket pocket I'm using one I pulled out from the back of the drawer - a SOG AutoClip large size BG42 PE. Wierd knife but good steel and more sheeple friendly than the others.

Just got comfortable with this group so I'm not on any kind of rotation for now.

during the week its a kabar warthog and gerber 600 muti tool to work.on the weekends it is a benchmade 10200 ambush or a crkt m21-04.

During the week, my main carry is an Atlantic Salt backed up by a Victorinox Spartan and Leatherman Super Tool. During the weekend, I usually switch up between a Spyderco Manix, or Military.

Rat, in the middle pic, what are the last two knives on the right?
