EDC rotation

Not quite the same as the bowl but a Hot Hands box is where mine all live. Except the one in my pocket right now my Bugout. Usually I'll just pick the one on my bedside table and then for some reason have an urge to fidget another one during the day and carry a second.

I have a tendency to collect a few knives, then move them along to someone who will use them more than I will. As far as folders. For example, I recently acquired a Cru-carta PM2 and Millie, made my mods to them, but then as soon as someone saw them and wanted them, I gave in and let them go. I reasoned that I always use my 8Cr modded Resiliences (one for home, one for the world) for everything anyway, so might as well not have folders just sitting around when they could be making someone else's tasks a little easier and more enjoyable.

I have a small plastic tackle box that contains the 8 in my rotation, usually the first 8 on the left. Occasionally I'll lay them out and arrange them in diverse order. On a Monday I would take out the next knife in order and carry it for the rest of the week. These days I've been working completely from home and so I might carry a knife 4 days or 6 days, and the next one could start on any day, not necessarily Monday. IOW I still do the rotation I'm just not as rigid about it.

Being a very simple guy, here is my grand rotation scheme for my true EDC:

Use my small CRK Sebenza until it’s dull, the switch it out for its sharpened cousin. Sharpen the dull one. Repeat.

For me the bigger question is what to carry as a secondary blade. Lately, it’s been the SAK Compact. I might switch that out for the LM Wave again at some point or try the skeletool cx.

I’m a little bit jealous of your organization abilities.
The chest is upstairs and I keep a stash downstairs in my man cabinet.

No real reason why I edc different knives.
Other than just picking one up I want to carry that day.
I usually carry a dragonfly to work, small and unnoticeable for the most part.

Nothing really rotates. I choose a knife to carry, and usually carry it for months or even years. I accumulate knives I think may be better and if they seem better suited, they will get carried.

I don’t sell any incase I want to revisit them. Whatever made me buy them in the first place eventually might make me want to try them again

This is all separate from knives that I bought to collect.

Typically go thru the first 7 from right to left, Mon-Sun. The Mini Recon 1 on the end is for when I go into RI (3” limit) or anywhere else where I might be worried about loss or confiscation. The AD-15 and AD20S, being bulkier, are wild cards that I randomly pick here and there.

What do you think of that FM-1? That has caught my eye lately, though I have been waiting for dealers to carry them as it’s only cold steel store that seems to sell them currently.

Love it! Had been wanting to try the Atlas lock, but didn't like the looks of the Engage. They had a 25% off sale for Labor Day so saw my chance. Nice and thin, unlike many of their overbuilt tanks. And definitely one of the sharpest knives out of the box I've ever received. Just wish there was a bit more traction on the lock release...they could learn from the Shark lock in that respect.

For 25% off I would have bought it already, hoping once dealers stock it that the price will be lower. It’s already a good price for the materials, I’m just cheap.
I would have preferred to see magnacut or m390, I’m not one to care much about steel used, but I’m tired of the S30v and s35v stuff on everything.

Who makes that alligator multitool in the first photo?
