Here's my EDC/CCW setup/rig:

CarryRig.jpg

I carry the Gerber in my left front pocket, and the BM in right front. The Leatherman Wave is on my right hip. The Surefire light is on my right hip also, along with the spare magazine.

The pistol is an HK P7M13 loaded with Speer Gold Dots on my left hip. I'm Lefty, so the Gerber sees the most use and abuse. The BM I really don't use at all. I'm not sure I've even ever cut anything with it. I suppose it's silly, but I want that blade to remain original factory sharp as long as possible. When I need to cut something tough, I use the serrated blade on the Leatherman.

Does anyone else carry a particular knife every day, but never use it? :o

In answer to your question, "no". :)

Nice set up though

Funny, I was just thinking about the P7 earlier today. Excellent pistol by all accounts but I've heard some people have trouble getting used to it. How do you like it? You shoot it often?

Cheers!

P7s are great guns.

As for the non-use of a knife, I've seen this with +$100 knives before.

No big deal. You did realize it was good enough to buy and carry, which is a step in the right direction IMO.

I have had the chance to shoot a P7 and the one that carries more bullets (p-13?) and I can highly recommend them...Great guns and very accurate!!

I dont have any pics of mine laying around, but my normal carry is

kt P-32 in a rear pocket holster w/spare mag in front left pocket

CRKT m21-04 in my right from pocket

Mikov auto in my right rear pocket (wallet keeps it stable!)

Leatherman on right hip

abnormal carry..lol

P-11 in IWB on right hand hip if out doing "social work" with a spare mag in pocket

CRKT same as above

HI Sarge/KPH knife on a horzontal leather sheath up front

Mikov same as above

HK makes good firearms, however, i think they are overpriced. i am a glock fan personally, its all i have ever carried. that being said, if i was given an HK, i would definitely carry it.

Nice setup buddy.

my 175 is the same as your BM knife in your rig... never use it, but then again, the 175 is a dagger.

what model is your BM you have pictured there again?

Hi.
This P7 is the 13 round version (P7M13). The M8 is the 8 round version. This is my primary CCW, and I shoot it every week. It's got over 10,000 rounds through it. HK's are expensive, but they are my favorite guns. One of the biggest advantages of them (for me at least) is they are very ambidextrous. Here's a pic of some of my HK's:

The BM is a 710SBT. Here's a closer pic of the two knives:

i carry one knife that is factory sharp,,and one that i use for everything...

usually it is a high end knife,,i keep it neat and clean thinking if i ever have to use it for self defense it will be factory sharp , but the truth is I am anal and using it as an excuse to baby it

HK pistols are great looking weapons. I've got a Taurus PT99 nickel finish but it is for home defense. CCW permits here in Maui is hard to come by and you have to have a very good reason for the chief of police to authorize you to have one. I wonder though if states that have CCW permits for law abiding citizens really deter crime though.

Every since I've been corupted by this forum, I've been looking at acquiring different EDC knives to compliment my collection. The Spyderco Manix will be one knife that I will like to EDC when I get my new custom sheath for it. It is just too large and heavy to clip in my pants pocket. I also have a couple plain Chris Reeve Classic Sebenza knives (small and large) to go into my EDC rotation. I definitely want my Leatherman Charge XTi always by my side because for almost fifteen years I've had a Leatherman multi-tool on my side.

BTW, I am like some that has posted where I just hate to lose that initial factory edge sharpness but I'm not too worried because I've got my Edge Pro and Sharpmaker to keep things in check. I mean I have these tools to utilize them to the fullest. If I break them or wear them out I'm sure I'll find something else to replace them. These tools are of no value to me if I just have them sit in my drawer.

Tell you what, anything you shoot once per week is going to work - with that kind of practice you can't help but get good. And like the Glock pistols & the Old German Lugers, the P7 series is said to be an excellent 'pointer'

Personally I got a Glock 36 recently. With the magazine extensions I've got 7 rounds per. And I've got several thousand rounds thru her already. Look to put more downrange soon :)

As for knives, I carry a Spyderco Chinook II. And sometimes a SAK soldier. However, I recently got a Timberline Valotton slide lock and I have a feeling it is going to see allot of carry; light, smooth action, strong lockup (passed the spine whack test) and it is absolutely razor sharp NIB... Need to get me a decent flashlight though. I'm behind the times with my maglights. But hey, my Glock has the night sites ;)

if those knives are not legal to carry where you are at - you could lose that hk,but on a lighter note;glock 17, 3 mags, centafaunte III. no pictures both are beat.

Sort of:) I typically have my regular use blade(s), Delica 4 and BM Mini-Grip, and a beater(Ka-bar/Dozier folding hunter - IWB). I also tend to carry a "backup" of either a Delica or Mini-Grip. My larger folders are in my Maxpedition. This week, I've got a newly acquired BM710 in D2 clipped to see if I can get used to larger folder (normally this has been inconvenient for me) again. I have just enough instances in my work where having a couple with me has paid off:) I usually loan the Ka-Bar......
