Hey guys I did a search but couldn't find anything, so if there is a thread on this already please direct me into the right direction!

I just picked up a RAT-3D2 and I love it, but I want it for EDC. I am looking for pictures of your blade on you in your EDC spot. It doesn't have to be the RAT, but I will ask that it be a fixed blade for obvious reasons.

Thanks guys.

You most certainly can ask. It was an inside joke between a couple of friends and I in high school. And believe it or not, I still use it to this day for all kinds of handles/tags. Immature, yes...but for the internet I find it rather acceptable.

If you happen to get pics, post them please. Or you could just tell me where/how you carry yours.

Thanks

okay thanks,
thought you might be a knifeaholic come to join us :)

I mostly just carry a pocket knife any more but their are others
coming along to help you.

Welcome

Thank you good sir. And thank you for the welcome. I do have a tendancy to buy knives though, like many many others on this board I am sure.

I EDC a Busse Game Warden strong-side, i.e. on my right hip in a leather holster hanging off my belt between rear right and front right pockets. I have a pouch-style holster that makes the knife ride high against my ribs, and the holster I usually wear only puts about 1.5" of handle above my belt.

Sorry no pics

But I EDC a BM 551 and I always keep it clipped in my right pocket so most of the knife is in my pocket and one could only see the clip outside of my pants

this is a pretty common way to do it

Oh, I found a couple photos of me wearing the sheath I described as pouch-style in my previous post. It's a home-made sheath. First pic shows the knife/sheath as viewed from the front, second pic shows from the side. My other leather sheath rides very much lower, so I can choose how high I want it to ride for a given day/wardrobe/circumstances.

mikeymoto, do you ever find the Busse to be in you way with that kind of sheath? I like the look, might pick something up soon.

I like to wear a small fixed blade in a canted sheath to the left of my belt buckle, crossdraw.

I EDC'd my RAT3 for a while. I still keep it close by. I have found the three best ways to carry it are around the neck, cross draw iwb left of center in front, and my current favorite is horizontal small of my back. All have there pro's and cons. The neck was the easiest to conceal and quite lite considering its size, the down side was problems common to neck knives. The iwb was also easily concealed however I found the sheath was not very well suited for that carry, perhaps with a different type of sheath it would be better. Th small of the back carry works great until you have to re sheath the knife, I think with a little practice once I get used to it. I am actually trying to figure out what kind of sheath I want right now. This thread is awesome I am really hoping to see some great ideas myself. Hope this helped ...

Thanks it did help. I will try around the neck for a while and see if I like it, also I was wondering if anyone could chime in about carryin in the boot?

I also like the small of my back but I can not tell too easily if the handle petrudes through my shirt too much without wearing a jacket of some sort.

I hope this thread evovles to get some good ideas or pictures.

Thanks for the info cb.

No it's not in the way. With a high ride like the one pictured the only thing I notice is it snugged up against me. At first its presence bugged me a little, but after wearing it a few days I came to expect it and now I rather like it up against me so I know it's there.

What I don't like, in fact, is a sheath for EDC that rides too low. I don't like it when it gets in the way of sitting or if it hangs down too much to be visible from under a coat or long shirt.
