Gentlemen, I would like to know what your thoughts are in regards to an EDC folder. Currently I have three knives I rotate for EDC; a BM Leopard, a BM 942D2CF and a MT Kestrel. I like all three of them, but I am looking for something to use and mildly “abuse” daily. Out of the three, the Leopard is the most comfortable to my hands. I would like something with a blade length of about 3 3/8”, under $175 and built with heavy-duty use in mind. It needs to be a one hand opener, (auto’s are not an option) with a locking blade. I am quite fond of the micro-bar lock from MT, but would consider any solid lock including the Bali-Song. The knife would be put almost any imaginable use, short of being used as a screwdriver, anything from opening letters to scraping gaskets or slicing material riding on a roller conveyor. I would like good edge holding (better than AUS8A if possible) with reasonable sharpenability. Stainless is not necessary, or even preferable, but most folders use stainless so I don’t have many options. The blade also needs to have a good point. I am considering John Greco’s Falcon or the MOD Trident, but I am open to any and all suggestions. I know this question has been asked numerous times, but I hope to be coming at this from a slightly different perspective. Thanks.

Get a BM 921. It has a great S30V wharncliffe main blade and a nice 440C small blade. It is super thin and light. I think it's a great EDC.

Just my opinion but go with an Al Mar Sere 2000. Its got a blade length of 3.6" and is made of VG-10 steel, way better than AUS-8A. This folder will take all the abuse you give it and ask for more. The lockup is first rate and the G-10 handle is pretty comfortable. It's a one handed opener and has a very smooth action. Hope this helps. Later
