EDC suggestions

I am looking for an EDC. I currently have a CRKT M-16 SRT, but that doesn't seem to hold an edge. I also carry (sometimes) a Benchmade AFO-9000, it is too big and has no pocket clip. Here are some things I like/dislike

Pocket clip
possibly tool steel (D2 etc)
Black scales (micarta, G-10)
Good Lock up
no tanto, no spear point

I'm really liking the Benchmade 730 series and the 720. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I recommend the BM 732D2. I got one for Christmas and I am really impressed. That steel goes a long way, it seems. Axis is butter smooth, but the knife feels as tough as a tank.

You'll love it.

The BM 732D2 is a great choice, even better would be if you could find one of the limited editions, the 732D2CF or the 730CFHS.

732D2 IS a limited model. Only 100 made in PE and another 100 in part serated. They are still quite available on various sites, though.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help guys. I am not a fan of the AFCK, a buddy has one and just not right for me. Here are some things I have found after looking around, I prefer a thumb hole open, and REALLY like the Benchmade 720 (except for the thumv stud). I have been looking at the 732 BT ALL DAY, yes, I like it as well, but again no thumb hole. Am I too picky?

doesn't matter, you'll flick them open with the axis lock anyway :D i prefer a thumb hole too, but i got a 710HS and couldn't be happier.

The Spyderco Delica is a great utility knife at a good price. The blade is made from excellent VG-10 steel.

If you want a more durable handle than the unlined zytel handle of the Delica, for slightly more money you can get the Camillus EDC framelock with an ATS-34 blade.

It shouldn't be hard to find a folder you like with better edge-holding than the CRKT offerings. CRKT uses AUS6 or AUS8 for the blades. There are plenty of folders out there with blades of ATS-34, VG-10, D2, and other much better steels.

I've been on this ALL DAY, I am REALLY liking the Spyderco Chinook I in s30v. It may not be exactly what I described, but looks good, seems to get good reviews, and may be JUST what the Dr. ordered ;)

Any opinions, either way? Also, I've been looking for the best deal, any suggestions for that as well? PM if need be...

I just got a Spydie Persian, and I highly recomend it!
Unbelievable build quality for the price, and a great blade shape.
VG10 steel, also. Really, must be handled to be believed.

I've had a BM 735 as part of my rotation for 2 years or so, and it's absolutely great. You should own an axis lock. And the knife has such a solid feel and sturdy blade. I'm also not as afraid to beat it up as my Sebenza.

Try BM 733-01 Ares. s30v super sharp, with CF and wood handle.
Or BM 705-03 D2 great blade, with jigged bone handle.
Also Kershaw Random Task. I have all 3 and they are all great EDCs
