I have the ich. Looking for a slimmer EDC. Too much -stuff in my pockets some days for a wider profile package, yet still capabile of mediuim duty use.
Thinking 940-2, thoughts?

The 940-2 is a great knife. G-10 scales, 3.4" CPM S30V blade, it fits well in the pocket with room to spare!

I carry primarily a 940 or a Grip. I have never felt the 940 was any less a knife than the Griptilian, despite its slim profile.
I don't abuse my knives, but I feel if pressed it would withstand some thumping.
Wranglerstar on YouTube sings the praises of the 940. He beats his to hell and it's taken everything he's thrown at it. Check out some of his videos

I have a 943 and a 940-2 which I EDC'ed for awhile. I love the knives, but started looking into larger handles after breaking down a file cabinet cardboard box and pruning a few evergreens. I tried the mini-grip in store, and thought the handle was too small for my liking. Personally, I really like the mini-Bone Collector (the Mini Presidio has a similar handle). However, it is a fatter, heavier knife because of the thick handle. However, the mini-grip can be ordered with high end steel and even customized through BM's custom shop.

If you don't have a 940, I think it's definitely worth purchasing... that's why I bought one after the other. However, another thin-and-light BM knife you might consider is the 530 and/or the 531. They come in at 1.88oz and 2.1 oz respectively (vs the 940's 2.9oz). 3.25" blade vs 940's 3.4" blade.

94x is a good call for slim EDC.
I prefer the 943 myself, but the G10 on the 940-2 is hard to ignore.
In the context of it's intended use I consider the 94x series to be quite robust.

The only other smaller BMs I have are the 484 and 707, both of which I like. But they can't match the cutting edge length to weight/profile ratio of a 94x.

Get the 940. You'll regret nothing.
