Lost my very VERY first knife, the Spyderco Tenacious. Loved it, and sad that it's gone missing. Now I am looking for another knife to edc. I loved my spyderco tenacious so much that I am actually thinking of just getting another one.

Preferences of mine are:

- Under $60
- Manual opening (no assisted)
- Spyderhole (although I'll take into consideration other knives)
- Being able to open and close with one hand (if possible, something similar to the smooth action/locking system of tenacious)
- G-10 handle if possible

I've already done some of searching, and I am currently looking at the CRKT Drifter, Spyderco Delica4, and of course the Tenacious (again). Delica4 blade steel is nice, Tenacious locking system is preferred, CRKT Drifter looks like nice valued knife.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

From what you wrote it sounds like you should stay in the Spyderco realm.

Buck vantage with G10 and s30v steel . The knife looks awesome . I just received one and I like it a lot . Haven't EDC it yet but it a matter of time . For the price around $55 you can't go wrong .

Delica 4 is an amazing knife. One of my favorites for EDC. I own several other Spyderco's and find myself carrying it more than any of them. It's so light and cuts so well.

Endura. Probably won't find a G10 version for the price you want, but the FRN handle is pretty damn good.

If you want to stick with Spyderco, I'd get the Delica (one of my overall favorite EDC knives). Or if you want to keep to a larger blade, there's the Endura. I'd much prefer either of those over the Tenacious. As for the back lock, it can also be closed one-handed with a little practice. And as far as back locks go, I like the feel/balance of the Spyderco's best.

The Drifter is a nice knife, but significantly smaller than any of the Spydies mentioned so far. The Vantage Pro was also mentioned. It's a good design, but actual build execution can be hit or miss (I'm batting .500 with my Vantages so far).

A couple others for consideration are the Blur (which can be de-assisted) or the Skyline. The Blur is a great all-around robust medium-large knife (very close in size to the Tenacious), and the Skyline is a nice, slim, light knife that's very functional and discrete.

Here are some pics of the various knives next to a Tenacious for reference:

There's also the ever-popular RAT-1. Here's another shot that shows the RAT-1 and 2 by some of the aforementioned Spydies.

I can recommend pretty much any Kershaw, they're not amazing but for the price they're hard to beat.

Just for kicks check out the Victorinox 111 mm knives. They offer the spyder hole as well as locking blade. Well within your budget and if you're ever tempted to use your blade for a screwdriver, you'll have a screwdriver available.

Rat 2. You can get 2 of them for $60.

Or, a Rat-1 and a Rat-2 for that range.

I couldn't PM you so:

I don't know if it's OK to put it in this reply post because I do not have it listed but seeing as I am a Gold member anyways, I have a SS drifter that I never carry anymore that I could ship to you (CONUS) for $18; it's excellent+ in the box. At that price, you could easily get another larger EDC folder for when you want to.

Check out a made in USA Kershaw Link! 420HC steel, your choice of aluminum or frn handles, stonewashed or blackwashed blades, and it flips great without the torsion bar. All for around $40!

Maybe try out one of the new Spyderco Byrd models, the Raven2 or Crow2. You get the same basic build as a Tenacious, but with a small steel upgrade and (in my opinion) significantly better ergos, as I love forward choils.

Otherwise, since the Tenacious was your first knife, I'd grab a Skyline to try out flippers. Better steel than the Tenacious, lighter, slimmer, and made in the USA for about the same price.

First thing I thought of was Delica but if you want some other options check out the Spyderco Centofante or the Spyderco Resilience which has g10 scales and is a liner lock like the tenacious, however it might be a little big for EDC.

The Kershaw skyline is an excellent edc knife. It is very light weight and I came to love the flipper. I also really like my RAT1. I like the aus8 steel much more than I thought I would. It is a little bulky at times. I wouldn't carry it if I were dressing formal. The skyline however Came with me to many formal affairs. I have an endura that sees the bulk of my edc time. I'm sure a delica would be just as great in a more compact package.
