Hey guys I need a edc folder under $70 and under 4.5 oz
Looking at.....

Spyderco Endura 4 ffg
Spyerco Delica 4 ffg
Cold steel Mini recon 1
Cold steel rajah 3
Spyderco manix 2 light weight
Kershaw skyline orange
Spyderco native

Maybe.............. a BK9 :D :D

Love the Kershaw Skyline, then again, I love my Izula II, BK11, BK14, Opinel #9, Svord Peasant Knife, and Spyderco Tenacious. I got them all for less than $70, though not all are less than 4.5 oz.

If you want a worker, I'd go with the Kershaw Skyline. Just my opinion. I don't own any of the others on your list. The svord peasant knife is completely awesome though, if you want a work in progress worker :) With a nice concave edge, it'll handle anything you throw at it! I'm currently modding one for a family member that loves knives too. Chopping the handle shorter and making some custom linen micarta slabs for it. Just wanted to give him something with personal value.

Anyway, back to the question at hand, I've heard nothing but good things about all the spydies listed, and I own several skylines (including 2 of the BladeForums model) and gave one to my brother as a gift. They are great blades with a great profile, they are super light, and out of the box they were work ready sharp.

Btw, love your site. :)

I have had all those knives except the cold steel so i cant tell you about them but i can tell you about the other ones. I had a Kershaw skyline a while back and ending up giving it away. Nothing against the knife but I dont like flippers on knives, but besides that i like the knife alot. I am a die hard Spyderco fan and mostly buy spyderco knives the four you have listed would all work well from you, but out of the four my favorite is the native. I have had the g10 manix 2 not the lightweight, and it to me is really solid built. The manix 2 is the knife i keep in my tool belt for work. But if you are just going to do lite edc work you cant go wrong with any of them and you should just get the one you like better. If you like the kershaw skyline you could get that and get another kershaw. Good luck with your search!

Have you looked at a Kershaw Blur? Under 4.5 ounces with a very nice recurve blade and most are under $70. It's assisted, but is super uber smooth de-assisted. Tip up and down carry right-hand side.

The Skyline, Delica, and Endura are all great EDC knives. I didn't much care for the FRN Native, but I like the Native 5. That runs over $70 though. I haven't tried the others you listed. A couple others to consider might be the Kershaw Blur, Leek, or Shallot. Also, the Benchmade Mini-Griptilian can be found within your price limit. There are also some of Kershaw's new offerings -- Injection (has 3" and 3.5" versions) and Thermite. I haven't handled either yet, but the designs look great. Those are all well under $70.

Now this is a thread to get into. I want a good EDC knife that has a thumb stud on the blade for easy deployment, liner lock for easy closing, and a pocket clip not affixed with the same screw that holds the blade in. But all those features in one package and made with a quality steel makes for an expensive package and I don't want to pay BK9 prices for a pocket knife.

The spyderco's you listed are all good options. As far as cold steel goes I like the code 4 and counter point better than the ones you have listed.

Well I own all of the knives you have listed except the Cold Steel. So just about any would be good. It all depends on the size, weight, lock style, and blade steel you want. The native is in S30v so its a great choice, the Skyline is nice and light, and the Manix2 LW is large but light. So really you can't go wrong with any.

I've narrowed it down to

Endura 4 ffg
Delica 4 ffg
Cold steel mini recon (because of the superior lock up)
Manix 2 ffg light weight
Rajah 3

Anyone who has most of these knives can you post a size comparison? :)

If I were to spend <$70 right now on an EDC knife it would be a Benchmade 555 Mini-Grip. That said there are other great knives out there such as the Kershaw Blur, Knockout, and Spyderco Delica/Endura.

:EDIT:
I've narrowed it down to

Endura 4 ffg
Delica 4 ffg
Cold steel mini recon (because of the superior lock up)
Manix 2 ffg light weight
Rajah 3

IMHO unless you enjoy spine whacking your knives there's no reason to prefer the tri-ad over a high quality lockback. I have never heard of the lock on a Delica/Endura failing during actual use. Out of the ones you listed I'd go for the Delica based on quality, blade steel, and size (for me the Endura is just too big to EDC).

I'd go Manix2.
Don't have a lightweight, but do have a regular and an M4 sprint (over $70.)
Great knife for the price.

No comparison pics as I actually don't have any from your narrowed-down list.
