edc whistle recomendation

looking for good edc whistle to get attention or alert others small and fit in pocket slim

When I carry a whistle, it is a Fox 40 Micro. It is inexpensive, small in the pocket and loud as heck.

I have not seen much difference between the many pea-less whistles that are available. I have an old Fox 40 Micro on my key ring, but you can also get the referee style. Some brand called SOL(Survive Outdoors Longer) packages the Micros in pairs, for under $10 if you look around in any place that sells outdoor/camping stuff. The set is great if you want to pass them out to the family, or just want to keep a spare around.

The short answer is: According to a test I did a few years ago of several different whistles, the Acme Thunderer 560 is the best whistle for it's size. The Acme 558 is a tiny bit louder, but considerably bigger.

I second the fox 40 micro. The other benefit is by being pea-less is that it will work in extreme cold. I would have a hard time believing you couldn't get someone's attention with it from my experience.

I like the fox 40 pearl. Been carrying/using one for about 6 years. Loud, compact and cheap.
