I just won a EDC with black clip on the bay last week. Is the blade 154cm? The blade doesn't say. Just CUDA ,Every Day Carry and USA. Great little knife for $35.10, whatever the steel is. I looked back and found one post about when the blade steel changed they changed the clip to black.

If it doesn't say 154CM on the blade, it's almost assuredly the newer version with 420. There were some D2 blades made exclusively for A.G Russell, but those were marked on the blade as well. The 420 blades were the only ones unmarked as far as I know.

I have an old glory edc, also unmarked. I tried sharpening with my edgepro system and the blade seemed to shrug off the attempt. I took it to a local knife shop to have it sharpened.
I have no other 400 series knives that gave me as much trouble to sharpen on my edgepro sharpeners so I assumed it was a 154cm blade. Catalog found on internet listed only 154cm for the old glory, don't know when the blade steel was changed.
Clip on my knife is not black.

I think it is 154cm, I dug way back to 2001. Will Fennell said "all 154cm EDC will have a stone washed blade". Mine has a stone washed blade:D. I also found a post about the new black clip. Also the 1st EDCs March 2001 were all 420hc and then changed in July of 2001 to 154cm. It all start as a short run of 500 made at the request of Bladeforum members. After about 3 years of 154cm production moved to Taiwan. AUS8 was used from then on, they have a silver colored clip. I sure wish Camillus was still here in her old grand form, the way she was in 2001. Will was a great rep. for them, much the way Thomas is for Kershaw now. Any way if any of you are missing how it was there is still alot of good reading from 7 or 8 years ago. It just makes you wonder what if 9/11 had not happened.
