I'm looking for an EDC knife with a blade less than 2.5 inches and a steel 'better than' AUS8. I know some people really like it so I'm not trying to stir the pot with that, I just want to try out a different steel. One caveat: I'm left handed so I don't really want a righty liner lock. Preferring a lock back but I'm also going to consider slippies.

Any suggestions?

Spyderco Dragonfly 2.

I currently have an old FRN version with G2 steel and it's fantastic; a G10 with VG10 steel is at the top of my list - I didn't know if there was anything else that could meet my requirements

AG Russell 3.0 titanium lockback
2.25" VG-10 FFG drop point in a rather thin titanium handle, like a slimline spyderco cricket

spyderco cricket

Boker/Krein pocket Bowie (if your interested in a fixed blade)
440C blade 56-58rc

CRKT classic Texas Toothpick
1085 carbon steel

+1 for the Dragonfly2. The choil lets you "choke up" on the knife for better control, the overall design is very comfortable, and the wire clip does a good job discreetly burying the knife while still keeping it accessible. For my small-to-medium-sized hands, it's just large enough that I'm not fumbling with it.
