EDC with long-ish blade and cost constraints?

You guys likely get exhausted of these "which EDC" questions, but I think my question poses some new criteria. I'd appreciate it if you guys can make any suggestions. First criteria is price. My EDC right now is a Kershaw Vapor...and it does just fine but I'm wanting something with a better grip. *Around* $50-60 is all I can really spend. It will be an EDC but I'd like as long as blade as possible. (3.5"-4") Spyderco had some promising models which proved just outside of the price range and Benchmade had 2 or 3 that fit. What else is out there?

It must have a clip
Must be at least 3.5"
Must NOT have a metal/smooth grip
Must not get too far ahead of $60

Or, something like this...

Spyderco Cara Cara with nice grippy G10 scales and a blade just shy of 4" in length...and all this loveliness well under your budget.

Spyderco Endura, Pacific or Byrd Cara Cara all fit the bill. They are all excellent, recommendable without any reservations. Personally, I am really fond of the Pacific because it needs literally zero maintainance.

(the reg. Endura 4 will run about $53 in a regular, reliable internet store, the Pacific around $62 and the Cara Cara around $25).

Guys I really appreciate it. I remember looking pretty hard at the Cara Cara a long time ago. Don't know why it never clicked. The pacific has appeal I hadn't thought of before 'cause me and my dad apparently have "super-sweat". He pretty much has to get titanium framed glasses and wristwatches or they'll turn green and start corroding after a couple of days. My Vapor has AUS6 blade and 410 handle/liners...and I've put a fair amount of surface rust on it just from normal handling. (I live in the midwest...we're still not sure what salt-water is.) How's 8Cro13MoV on corrosion? I enjoy sharpening knifes as much as using them so corrosions more a worry than edge retention.

We've got spyderco covered...and I appreciate that. Are some other makers of good repute that I'm not aware of?

spyderco endura 3 or 4, sex on a stick and probably well below your high end price.

At the risk of a dogpile on me I will add the Cold Steel Large Voyager. Runs in the mid $40's online. A 4" blade, reasonable steel, robustly made.

I seem to remember seeing a couple of Benchmade 710's in user condition selling for around 65-70 on the bay a few weeks ago....I can't imagine it would be terribly hard to find one in that price range.

Or try to make a trade...if you don't have any knives to trade, come up with something interesting. Heck, I traded a SOG Powerlock for some silver bullion a few weeks ago! You never know what people are looking for.

KERSHAW LAHAR......3.5 inch, VG-10 blade, good handle of textured G-10, pocket clip, thumb stud and flipper....$63.00. Big knife for it's size...I love mine.

I recommend the Cold Steel Voyager or Gunsite.

Both knives come in 4- and 5-inch blades. They're all exceptionally strong with exceptionally sharp blades. Specifically, try the Gunsite II.

I recommend the Blade-Tech Pro hunter lite, 3.5 blade. Greatest ergonomics I've ever felt in a folder. 50-60.00 if you look around.

I know this is a little late, but try looking at the spyderco Pacific Salt series. It has H-1 steel, which has good edge holding, and it can never rust. I've had mine for a year or so and it's gone with me fishing and to the beach more times than I can count. I always have it clipped to my shorts even when I wade out in the water. It's never had a single spot of rust and all you have to do is rinse out the blade with water and open and close it a few times to get out all of the grit that builds up and it's good as new.

The Pacific Salt is just like the Endura 4 model, the only real difference is the steel. The Salt won't rust, but the Endura will hold it's edge longer. The Enduras edge holding won't matter if you like to sharpen your knives anyways. The Pacific Salt will hold out just fine. I believe it has a RC of 58, so that puts your edge holding around AUS-8 or VG-1, whichever one you are more familiar with.

Hope this helps, J.
