I've been looking to buy a higher end EDC knife. While browsing Zero Tolerances catalog I came across the 801 BW and instantly loved the looks of the black wash. I almost pulled the trigger but I found the ZT 620. I like the design and the Emerson wave feature.The knives are about the same price. Which is the better EDC? I've never owned a ZT so I have no comparisons.Thanks for your time!

This would come down to your personal preference. Flipper or wave opener, spear point or tanto. The 0620 is also slightly longer. M390 is a nice premium steel and you can't go wrong with, I have had no problems with any of the elmax I have gotten from ZT. Both will fit a heavy use EDC roll nicely.

Both are great knives. Personally, I like the 0801 more overall. It really is a matter of preference though. The 0620 is a little larger and has a bit more of an aggressive feel to it. The wave opening is great, and the action is super smooth with both the wave or thumb disc. The 0801 is an awesome flipper riding on the KVT bearings, so the blade swings open and closed with practically no resistance.

in my opinion i would go with the 0801 the blackwash hides scratches very well my 0350bw looks brand new when its not. and personally i have heard that the zt+emersons have some fit and finish issues just like the normal Emersons. but its up to u bro!

I love both of mine and swap them out often. I would say the 801 is a little leaner in the pocket but outside of that it comes down to preference. I have had zero issues with my 620 and since it is newer has definitely seen more pocket time.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'm leaning more towards the 801; the 620's tanto blade is holding me back.

I forgot to mention in my last post;

Why not both ;)? They would pair nicely together :D
