I'm looking for the best EDC for 60 bucks or less. I need the most durable knife I can afford. I would like it to be as smooth as possible. I also don't want a huge knife like 3 inches or less would be best for me. Any suggestions?

I would suggest the Spyderco Native or Delica. The Native might be a tad above $60 in VG10. Great knife however. I would suspect the Native is tougher than the Delica. The Sage is another good one. I sound like a Spyderco ad.

I really like the Cold Steel Tuff Lite (Aus 8) which runs about $30. It is a great edc in my opinion depending on the kind of cutting you do. Wish it was made in better steel, but Aus 8 is okay and easy to sharpen.

The top rated customer review:
"Nice knife. I have gone through a number of knifes in my day and this is a good one for the price. Smooth soft finish, good weight and the spring assist works well. Overall it feels sturdy and durable. Helpful tip: with inexpensive knifes, I usually remove all large screws and use [Loctite], thread locking solution, to insure screws never come loose. This will prolong the life of your knife. Hope this helps."

Sold. :p

Jraut what's your budget? Woops, I missed the $60. Also different blade shapes lend to completely different strengths and weaknesses. Many are happy with a Kershaw Leek as an edc, but many many jobs are too heavy for a Leek. What do you expect to use it for?

So you have sixty bucks to spend well the good news is there are many knives to choose from. Spyderco makes a value line, and Kershaw has the Kershaw Emerson colabration knives in that range. So go browse would be on the net. BladeHQ is one place to check their web-site.

Than try and find a place were you live that stocks the same model you are interest in. If the price is only a few bucks more buy locally. If the price is way higher, now that you know what you want.

Shop The Internet with reputable dealers. BTW you should be in for about $40.00 under your budget.

Looks like you have already pretty much made up your mind with the Rat or Cold Steel in the other thread.
