Not my first taste of INFI but my first from the Boss. Got a Coyote Mashed Cat on the way for it. Man I had to sell a few things to get this. So what would you think if your kids teacher had this on his hip while teaching? I guess my GW will have to do until I can find a Skeleton Warden to pocket carry. My OJ GW is just a bit too heavy for my pocket. Thanks Amy, Jerry, Garth, Janitor, and Crew. I really appreciate this blade.

What's a teacher have to do with having a Busse, lots of people here do different things. I think there was an older thread around here with what everyone did for a living. It's actually kinda interesting...

Only if you teach in the city of Philadelphia...

:-(

I did some volunteer lectures with Junior Achievement, in elementary schools in Philly... the school on 20th and Catherine comes to mind - bars on the windows and metal detectors. For first through sixth graders. Talk about a depressing part of the city.

A BWBM on your hip doesn't do much good when the fourth graders are packin' heat :(

I frankly think this would make an excellent edc for a school teacher. I don't possible see how this could end badly. :D

First of all, GORGEOUS blade - that combo is just sick.

I used to teach 9th and 10th world history to "at risk" high schoolers here in NYC - they would have f'ing loved it if I wore that knife on me.

They knew I owned a bunch of firearms and we used to talk knives and guns, in a respectful/educational way, all the time and their maturity level while talking about such was pretty eye opening - in a good way.

They were more interested in hunting and camping stories than anything. They loved when I would bring my Kifaru mollex or E&E to class

Surprisingly most of my kids had never held a hand gun, shotgun or rifle - knives were a different story.

With regards to me carrying, the knife policy was so strict in NYC public schools, even for teachers, that I didnt even bring my leatherman or SAK onto school grounds... I'm surprised the laws arent as strict for you...

Nice looking combo you've got there. As for school, I guess it would depend upon the school and the kids. But you may also want to carry a sidearm on the other hip to really let them know your serious about teaching. And walking the straight and narrow. :)

I wouldn't carry this thing to work you guys are nuts. It was just a joke...:) I can get away with a knife or two though. I teach agricultural education an they are looked at as tools. But the school I teach at is pretty rural anyway. In VA knives have to be under 3" blades to be in the school. Not for students of course but anyone else. Some have strict policies but I have carried one slightly larger a time or two. Thanks Trailwolf had to flip for sage or muddy and sage won. I did order some coyote pants for this bad boy should be here in a few days.

I have thought about how my college students would react if I came in with my Mistress on my back...I don't think it would go well. A few of them have commented on my tiny little Gerber EDC in my pocket.

@ HAKnPocket

I live in VA also, I've always heard the 3 inch and under blade law, but from digging more and talking to some officers that were well informed about knife laws here, it appears that you can carry whatever you want as long as it's in the open, not double edged, switch blade, butterfly knife, or gravity knife. The places where there is NO carry allowed are: schools, churches, and bars.

There are a lot of officers here who swear that the law is 3 inches lock blade, 6 inches fixed.... but that's just a misunderstanding

So do you think this will make an good EDC for a school teacher?

Well.

I'd say you're ready for a teaching position in Kabul or Bagram.:p

That's one heck of a knife, though. I like your Skelly Warden idea ... you can also look for the elusive Swamp Warden (sometimes called a Rat Warden).

School carry in VA is anything folding under 3". But thats not what this thread is for. I really just wanted to show off my my BWBM. Gotta admit though its pretty sweet. HUH?

I'd say to EDC your Orange Warden - at .140 it's a great slicer and the orange G10 handle doesn't make it look tactical, more safety toolish. If you find it a little too heavy for pocket carry, try using a lanyard with a monkey fist knot at the end - just tuck the knot end of lanyard under your belt above the pocket - it'll suspend the knife and its sheath, making it feel weightless. It can be pulled free easily with a tug and you can even have several paracord lanyards each in a different color so than they blend into whatever pants you're wearing that day for low visibility.
And, yes, that BWM looks great - my favorite color combo too.
Best Wishes,
"Bloody Bill"
