A gentleman asked me about making him a new, smaller variation on the EDChef, and said he like Bocote as a handle material. Well I happened to have one remaining EDChef with Bocote scales up in the exchange so I offered to mod it into the first ever EDChef Mini. After all, I am here to make knives that people like and want to carry and use, so I am not insulted if someone feels one of my designs is not quite right for them, and they request a change or two. No extra charge for the mod, of course, as it was a simple matter and only a few extra minutes of work.

All EDChefs, including this new mini, include thin grinds, hair popping edges, and radiused spines for extra comfort in use. This new EDChef Mini came out with a 2 11/16" cutting edge, and measures 6 5/8" overall. I am quite please with how it turned out.

From this (with a 4 1/8" cutting edge):

To this (looks pretty sadistic right! Don't worry I kept the blade cool while grinding, obviously, so the heat treatment is not affected):

Nice light and compact package, super slicey, and sure to be legal in most places.

Thanks for looking!

I know it’s part of an order but it does hurt the soul a bit to see you grind the tip off a beautifully completed knife.

Hope the customer loves it.

Think of it like a sculptor finding a new work of art within an existing one.
