EDCing my Skeleton Warden

Got my SW the day before Thanksgiving. Just one more thing to be thankful for!!

The handle felt thin and really not ergonomic. It does not help that I have tendonitis so it is not fun to grip anything.... I really would have preferred a Warden with a regular handle but ya gotta grab what's in the trough when it's available. I wrapped it in some 1/8 inch cord and WOW is it much more grippable. It fits the hand well and keeps the lighter weight of a skeletonized knife.

I've been carrying it in the sheath from my Benchmade Outbounder. The Busse keeps an edge much better than 440 stainless (did I even need to say that??) The sheath places the end of the grip right at the top of the belt. This is the first time I've carried a fixed blade. Nobody has given me any strange looks yet. I have had it with me while shopping at WalMart and Lowes and the gas station. It is legal in PA as long as it is not concealed. Still it feels weird to me. I will get used to it and carry it until the folder is available in 2 weeks.

I was cutting up some cardboard the other day. I worked well but, I think a thinner blade would be better for slicing like that. The thicker blade has strenth to tackle any job you throw at it. Overall I think this is a great EDC fixed blade. Here's some pics....

Great wrap job. I'm keepin' mine bare bones, but if I ever change my mind, I would wrap your style. Nice pics.

Nice wrap job

Send me your address in PA and I will be over this weekend for some venison. :D

Nice job, HH. I would echo Guyon and ask, "Where do the ends go?"

Nice wrap and nice knife. I missed out on them the first time they came up. I'm hoping there's more coming down the pike.

I think HH did it like I did when mine arrived. Both ends are run back through the coils on the inside of the rear cutout of the handle. :) You'll want to have some extra cord; and a soldering iron works pretty well to cut and seal the end of the cord when you have finished.

You can see the cord running back under the coil on the top of the handle. I just used a scrap piece of paracord, which explains why it ended up a bit short. It also made it a heck of a lot more difficult to feed the second end under the coil. :thumbdn:
