I think I know the answer to this one but I am going to ask it any way.

Target has an Eddie Bauer multi-tool for $15 this week that looks like a clone of Vic's Cybertool 34. It looks like there is a compass on the scale as well.

Does anyone have any experience or opinion on this tool?

I am pretty sure that it doesn't compare to the real thing, but is it good enough for the money?

I don't own any of that Eddie Bauer stuff, but what I've seen hasn't impressed me much.

I wouldn't recommend a compass mounted near all that ferrous metal. It's highly unlikely it would be very accurate.

The memory stick and the compas probably work OK...

Its not that the knife is bad, its just that prety much ALL Eddie Bauer stuff is junk; You pay 3 times the price of similar quality goods just because it says "Eddie Bower".

For instance, I got an Eddie Bower lighter once...It was rubber coated, refillable, and windproof with a platinum mesh filliment. worked about as well as one of the $1.50 ligheters you get at a gass station. I followed there "maintenance" instructions to the letter, but it was failing to light within the week; I dont even smoke, so it was barely used at all. I was going to send it back for the warenty repair, but it got a bit wet and failed compeltely. The broken lighter was "my fault" at that point, so the warenty was a no-go.

Iv had a personal grudge against them ever since.

I've had hit-and-miss luck with Eddie Bauer stuff, which I only buy on clearance. I've gotten two micro LED flashlights which were pretty good. A Leatherman Squirt-sized multitool sucked. A aluminum-poled backpacking tent works well.

i had one of them from target a couple of months ago trying to be cheap and buy that than a swisschamp.guess what......... i still had to buy the sak swisschamp and the eddie bauer so called sak wannabe fell apart on me as i was using it one part after another.what junk:barf:
