Edge angle for first axe

Hey guys, Just completing my first real edged tool project, its a smallish full tang camp axe, about 13.5 inches long, 4 inch cutting edge, 1/8 inch stock.
What would be a good angle to grind the edge? Dont plan on throwing it, but dont want too thin an edge for knots and such.

The steel is another matter, I found a 26 inch diameter round saw blade and it said Toronto saw co. on it, (i think. It may have said Canada saw co.) looked kinda old, good layer of rust, but great quality. Is it 1095, or L6, which I have read many saw blades are made of? I dont think tempering will be too critical, as I am a beginner yet, but I would like to start off on the right foot if I can help it.

I'll post some pics when its done, as well as a few others I have cut out.

thanks,

i'd think around 20 degrees,(each side of course). A 1/8 thick axe, not tempered wont be doing much hardy chopping, 20 degrees plus or minus 2 o 3 wont hurt it.

I do intend on tempering, but not knowing the type of steel it wont be the exact hardness I want.
