Looking for any information on the EDGE BRAND solingen knife company. Is it still in business. I see their knives like the 469 bowie in auctions and ebay. I have one and I am looking to find the dates of manufacture for the leather spacer version. Any info is appreciated

Sorry, I can't help you on that. I too need some info. on Edge Brand knives. My first real knife was an Edge Brand fixed blade knife which my parents bought me during a vacation trip to the Smokies. I was about 12 years old at the time and it was a big deal to me (and them). Lost the knife in a burglary some years later. If I could see examples of the different knives that Edge Brand produced, it might be easier to locate a replacement just for the memories. So far, eBay hasn't had one that looks like my model up for auction, yet.

Edge brand was a company that had knives made in germany, Japan, taiwan and other places. They made mostly "lower end" knives. However many of the German made knives were of decent quality. I have owned, traded, many of their knives in the past and the ones from germany always seemd to be the better quality. They were more of an "importer" who put their names on many of the knives much like Taylor cutley.
