Curious to know what knives you great forums people have had the best experience with, regards to sharpness/edgeholding.

Me: Livesay, Hartsfield, Dozier.

Well, lessee, there are about 3500 people on the BF now? So, probably about, oh, say, 2500 different answers on that one. And, out of that 2500, probably 4,000 different ways to measure it.

From what I've read on here, Talonite seems to be the best, whereever you get it. 420V and 440V seem to be the favorites next, with a lot of following of D2, M2, and A2 after that. I think most of Livesay's are 1095, which is good, but not grrRRREAT! Dozier uses exclusively D2, I think, which many say is great, but has more of a tendency to rust than, say, ATS-34. ATS-55, 420V, 440V, and definitely Talonite (which doesn't rust). Sorry can't provide more; I'm relatively new into the higher steels, and only buy production, so far.
