I hope this makes sense like it does in my head when I say it😁.

Currently I sharpen my knife at 19 degrees per side using the Work sharp angle adjust since this angle matches what came fron the factory. I am looking at a sharpmaker to touch up the knife when needed. My question is if I use the 20 degree setting will it be enough of a difference to create the micro bevel? This is typically what these are for correct?

Second part is if I sharpen at 20 on the precision adjust I assume I can still use the 20 degree setting on the sharp maker to maintain right?

I really hope this makes sense

That is assuming you hold the knife 100% vertical (you won't for more than a second) so it is slightly irrelevant.
If theory yes it may create micro bevel but realistically it's no biggie.

The Sharpmaker can be ideal for very quick & extremely light microbevelling. I use it in that capacity after setting edges on my knives.

I'd suggest taking your edge as far as you can in refinement on your guided setup first. Make sure it's completely apexed and the burr is as minimal as you can make it. THEN, use the 20° setting on the Sharpmaker for just 1 or 2 very, very light passes on each side of your edge. Test how it's cutting after that (slicing fine paper, etc.).

If you minimize the number of microbevel passes per side on the SM, you needn't worry too much about the imprecise angle control in using it. The angle control issues get magnified, however, if you take too many passes - no two passes will be exactly the same, so the edge becomes a little rounder with too many passes past a certain point. You can improve on that over time, and get better results. But in first learning it, it's best to keep it as minimal and light as you can. The tiniest of microbevels on a freshly-set edge can make a big difference in apex width (keenness) and edge durability. Also works well for deburring.
