I am getting an Edge Pro apex foe Christmas. Is the retractable magnet worth buying? How about the bench adapter/ i already have several stones.
 
I would say yes on the magnet, slide guide, and small knife attachment. I personally wouldn't bother with the bench adapter. I like to reposition my sharpener, depending on which hand is holding the knife, and which hand is running the stone.

I just wached the video below…

Obviously there is nothing to fix the knife on the sharpener so you need to hold it. I suppose it gets weird when switching sides and you need to hold the stone and sharpen with left hand.

In the video the guy was moving the knife when sharpening. How can you move it exactly the same each time? If you don't the sharpening angle will not be the same because the distance from edge to pivot is different.
