Do any of you Edge Pro Apex users use the Chosera or Shapton stones with your machine? And if so, do you see any discernable advantage in doing so?

I would love to be able to try out my Glasstones on my Edge Pro (when my machine arrives later this week), as I love the edges they give me freehand (I have 1K, 2K, 8K, and 16K). I just need to find a supplier of the Glasstones sized for the Edge Pro blanks.

You can order them from Jende Industries. I just received my XC DMT mounted for the EP. Boy, this thing eats metal fast. I got it from Jende too.

jende industries or chefs knives to go.

that's the two only sites i know that sell them. it's a KF/in the kitchen project from kenss at the start, both mark from cktg and jende's owner follow this forum so they sell the stuff.

Don't use them. :)

the point isn't getting sharper Ankerson, the point is getting there faster. can't compare the cutting speed between EP stones and choceras. 400 chocera is WAAAAY faster than EP 120 and a complete working set of chocera can be 400-1k-5k-10 doing the same job than 120-220-320-600-1000-2k-6k EP.

10k chocera is the same abrasive size (1micron) than 6k EP in a way more durable and convenient form factor ... it's still a stone.

4 stones doing the work of 5stones plus 2 tapes while polishing faster at each step sounds like a great improvement to me.

Depends on who you get them from, the last time I checked Jende's stones were thicker, chefknivestogo was selling the same thickness as the EP stones.
