Why does Edge Pro use a different grit numbers?
For example;
"Edge Pro 1000 Grit Ultra-Fine Water Stone" information states, "This stone is a little finer than a Japanese 8000 grit water stone."
Or,
"Edge Pro 2000 Grit Polish Tape" says, "This tape is the same as a 20,000 grit Japanese water stone or 9 micron."
What's the difference? Why can't they just use the same grit system?
Also, does this mean that the Edge Pro 1000 grit Water Stone can be used to bring a mirror polish?
