Hi guys Ive been using the edge pro now for 2 weeks and Iam pretty sure Iam doing something wrong. The back of the blade barely gets touched by the stone and bevels just look godawfull Ive looked at the manual video still no inprovement. Also the polish tapes havent had much luckh those as well yes they polish but Iam getting these really wierd scratch mark's on the edge. What Iam i doing wrong.

any information willbe greatly appreciated.

If the back of the bevel isn't be touched it sounds like you have it at too high angle. If the bevel is all out of whack the tapes won't do what they do best...polish

Have you tried marking the edge with a marker to see if and where you are hitting the edge?

You may have set up the edge pro the wrong way. Look at the photos, and compare the way you have everything attached. I made this mistake, when I first started.

By back of the blade are you talking about the cutting edge?

Try lowering the angle. If you're only hitting the very apex and not the whole bevel, your angle is too steep. Also, practice makes perfect. Practice with junk knives that way you don't bugger up your nice ones. Be sure to keep everything as close to same as possible between sides and stones (technique, blade position and pressure). Some stones may have different thicknesses so marking the edge between stones may be necessary.

If you can post a photo of your EP with a knife on the table ready to sharpen, it might make diagnosing the problem you're having a lot easier. :)
