thank you :mushroom:

Are you sure you're sharpening all the way down to the edge? Check to make sure you've built up a burr each time you finish sharpening each side.

I make no claim to know what I talking about but here's my thought - maybe the problem is not the edgepro but something about your final stropping. If that was the case then I don't see how a wickededge would help.

Try stropping at a larger angle.... I mean, if you strop keep the back of the blade a lot higher of your strop than you did now!
The reason I advize you this, is that I had a similar problem!
Worked for me!

Sounds like you need to evaluate your technique, not your rig.

Yeah... you haven't told us anything about your level of sharpening skill or your experience with the Edge Pro. If you're new or relatively inexperienced at sharpening, it's going to take a while to develop your technique no matter what system you're using. Training and practice are the best helps for technique issues. Read about sharpening, study videos, and practice on inexpensive beaters until you feel comfortable enough to take on a more expensive knife.

If you're already pretty skilled, then it may just be a case of needing to get used to a system and learn its quirks. Any system you use is going to have a learning curve. Jumping from one to another too quickly won't do anything except keep you at the beginning of the learning curve and you'll never really improve enough to satisfy yourself. The Edge Pro is a fine piece of equipment. I had one for a while and it will do an excellent job if it's used properly. But that takes time and practice.

One other trick to try is to color the knife bevels on both sides of the blade with a Sharpie. Then check your sharpening technique and be sure you're removing the ink all the way down to the very edge. That will tell you that you really are sharpening the entire bevel. Remember to use light pressure... light pressure... light pressure, especially with the Edge Pro. I found that it was easy for me to get heavy-handed with that arm.

10 minutes? You sure? I have a WE and it takes a lot longer than that to get an extremely nice edge. Also, what is your definition of a "TP slicing edge" (i.e. how do you hold the TP, what do you want the edge to do, etc). Jankerson gets a TP edge w/ a relatively low grit toothier edge on his EP apex... with stock stones (if I am recalling correctly)... it doesn't have to be super mirror polished.

I have an Edge Pro and Chosera stones and have no trouble getting hair whittling, tp slicing, atom splitting edges.

I don't know about travclem, but I've been using the EP for 2 or 3 years now. Splitting atoms... I wish. Some of the mania has subsided. I stop sharpening when I can run a hair across the edge and have the hair whittle itself or snap off.

I had issues with the Edge Pro edges not being sharp. Ben Dale offered advice, which helped. One problem was the stones were loaded (inexperience on my part). I eventually bought the stone leveling kit, which made a huge difference. leveling and unloading the stones. I wouldn't give up without contacting Edge Pro.
