Edge Pro noob results so far

Hello!
Just wanted to share some of my results with my new edge pro so far

I have only had it for acouple of weeks but I'm already starting to get pretty good at properly and efficiently using it
My current progression is Diamond 140, to shaptons 220,500,1k, and 4K then I finish off with both sides of my stropman strop ( not sure of the microns)
I have gotten pretty sweet polishes and sharp edge with this set up and I'm super pleased!

I Havnt been able to split a hanging hair yet but I think that's because I'm progressing too fast thru the grits
Also I have run into slight bumps regarding micro bevels and sharpening near the tips but overall it's been great! ( I am terrified of trying my sebenza tho..I heard it's very hard to keep the angle with its small flat)

A little bit of sanity in a weird world.

You know . . . when you get it down you could probably split hanging hair even at the 1000. That might be a good test of when to move on to the 4000.

By the time you get done with the 4000 and the strop it should be a no brainer to split hair.
Try to get it to do it before you strop. Maybe the strop is messing you up some.

The last passes with the stones should be ultra light. If you can't get rid of the bur without the strop then go one pass just against the edge (maybe steepen the angle ever so slightly before hand as well) . . . then once the bur is off go one pass per side just with the edge and alternate a couple times.

your edges are looking grate,a hole lot better then mine did when i got started about a year ago,i was never able to split hairs probably because i stopped at the EP-1000 and finished up on my strop!but my knifes are coming out plenty sharp these days,theres no doubt i could get there with two more stones if i tried!but keep up the good work.:thumbup:

What angle is the PM2 sharpened at?

Both the dlc and satin one were sharpened at 18 per side

Honestly the opportunity presented it self and it was the best bang for the buck
You can buy an EP with shapton stones for basically the same price as a basic wicked edge
So that's why I went the EP route
TBH if I had the money I would buy the WE pro pack 2 because I personally prefer not holding the blade and don't like that I have to wet the stones all the time
Both systems are fantastic tho
