Edge Pro polishing tape with Lansky

Hello Guys!
I'm using a Lansky system to sharpen my knives (except scandis) up to 2000 grit. I'm fine with the results, they popping armhair, cuting through phone book paper easily and so on. But I'm wondering how can I get that true mirror polished edges, that you can see in videos done by Edge Pro and 6000 polishing tapes.
So I came up with the idea to stick these polishing tapes to a Lansky stone and theoritically I can get the same results.
What are your opinion? Is that possible? Does anyone tried it before?

I haven't used both together, but I have used both ... can't think of a reason why not.

Since you'll probably have to cut to fit them anyway, you might look for a place that sells micro abrasives by the sheet... might get a little more bang for your buck.

If you do it, post the results!

Yes, it is certainly possible. I use 1500, 2500 and 3000 grit sandpaper as well as 9, 6, 5, 3 and 1 micron 3M lapping films on my Lansky stones.
I use Scotch removable double sided tape to attach the films to spare Lansky stones.

The tape doesn't clog the pores of the stones?

No, it does not but I use a couple of spare stones that I have reserved for this purpose.

Thanks for the replies guys, especially fvdk! 3M lapping films looks promising, I ordered them, I will post the results!

Thank you Guys, again!
As I mentioned before, I decided to try 3M lapping films and its just works fantastic! I finnally could achieve the results in sharpening that i wanted to! Real mirror polish, actual hair whittling sharpness. Now I'm scared a little bit of my own knife. :)
The use of the lapping films is very easy. I cut them to a size that slightly larger than the lansky stone, soak it up a little bit and then it just sticks to the stone without using any adhesives. Brilliant product!
