So I am beyond the ability of my lansky sharpener. I want a better sharpener so I can apex my edges faster and easier. I am sure this has been asked many many times here before but I'm not much for searching. So I pose this question to you guys here. I am defiantly leaning toward the edge pro because of price I can get the stage 4 kit with all the grit and polishing tapes for less than 250 while the wicked edge is double that. Who here has used both and and why do you prefer one over the other? Thanx for your time.

If you get bored with the threads, you have probably already seen it: Edge Pro costs about $200; Wicked Edge $400+ for anything decent.
Good sharpening,
Dave

Oh forgot to mention that since you wanted to sharpen your knives faster you might want to look at the worksharp, worksharp ko, paper wheels, and freehand since you can just buy the largest coarsest diamond stone you can get and wreck havoc on your blades while they quiver in fear of the stone. Your working with smaller stones with all those guided setups which make it take longer to grind away metal. And lets not forget you can use the DMT Aligner clamp with your benchstones as well to help guide you. Enjoy your research.

The EdgePro and Wicked Edge are both premium systems that can easily produce clean, crisp edges that you can refine to almost any degree you want. You can't go wrong with either one, provided you have an interest in sharpening and have a basic understanding of sharpening theory.

Personally, I like the Wicked Edge because it takes less maintenance and doesn't need water. I like the upright clamping system on the Wicked Edge. The edge is mounted and secure until you are done, and you can use both hands at the same time. I also like diamond stones because they cut faster, but they do wear out.

But both will cleanly reprofile your edge, which is usually not very good or uniform right out of the box. And both will get that edge as sharp as you will ever need.
