I have been looking in to a sharpening system and ran across the edge pro systems. I was wondering if they were worth the money. I plan on sharpening a 8 blade set of kitchen knives as well as a bunch of different folders and a variety of fixed blades, some needing more work than others. My girlfriend is also a stylist and I would like to be able to sharpen her sheers and seeing that the edge pro has a attachment for that purpose also added some points. But is it really worth $575

i have the apex model, not the pro.

but i can definitely say mine was well worth the money. if i could afford the pro model, i would certainly get it.

ive never used it on kitchen knives, but have been able to get my knives sharper than ever before using their system. it is pricey, and can be time consuming, but the end result is nothing short of fantastic.

Exactly what he ^ said.

I own the Apex model.
I have everything from a kitchen knife set to thick choppers. It works very well on all of them.

This unit works better than any other sharpening system I’ve owned in the past, and I have tried a lot of them over the years.

depends on how much it costs to sharpen your shears.

for personal use the $155 apex model is most effective.

if there are barber shops and more shears to be sharpened, it may well be worth your time on the weekends or during the week to pay off the cost of the Pro version.

Hands down the sharpest blades I've ever handled are edgepro blades. and I've used it on everything from little old timers to hatchets and 16 inch Bowie knives.

Yes, the EP is cost-effective, especially if you want to do blades other than knives. I've had mine for about 10 years, and I love it. It's only one tool in a range of sharpening gear I have, but it is highly effective.

You may find that other devices and techniques work better for edge maintenance, but for establishing an initial secondary grind, the EP works great.
