I'm looking to buy another Endura. I used to have a full spyderedge one and I liked it until I realized that plain edge was better, now I'm reconsidering. It's going to be an EDC utility/defense knife, so I figure fully serrated again might not be a bad idea. I know there's nothing better than Spyderco for serrated. Then again, plain edge usually always does the job.
I also love the tan handle Endura (plus I live in the desert so it kinda works) and as far as I know its combo edge only. Now, I haven't had combo edge since my old CRKTs, and some people love them, others say they're useless. So, I'd like some spyderfan imput please...thanks. :D

I have a couple of Natives in combo edge. A combo's okay, but I think I would prefer one or the other all the way. If you really think a plain edge is a better choice for you, then that's the way to go.

I agree on the SpyderEdge. I have a few other knives with serrations and they are some distance behind the Spyderco serrations in every respect.

I come from the school of thought that at least two knives should be carried at all times and at least one of those two knives should be fully serrated.

Since Spyderco makes the best fully serrated knife on the market, period. I carry a spyderedge and another plain edge at minimum.

The serrated is always there for whatever you need it. Some people claim that a SE isn't as versatile as a PE, but if you need to cut something, anything, even things that are not supposed to be cut, a SE knife will get the job done.

At this moment my SE knife is a black bladed Native in S30V. I know it says "combo edge", but it is basically fully serrated.

Haha, well I'm new to the carrying two knives idea. Usually it's a kiwi and a sebenza, but maybe a kiwi and a SE Endura would work well...
And since the Endura is by no means expensive I'll get more than one kind...

JediKnight86,
I read your first post with a laugh. No offense, I wondered the same when I bought my first Endura, an SE. I eventually bought the CE and PE versions and tried them out for the best EDC. I found the CE as best for all duty. The PE works great for general tasks, but the SE is top notch for everything from those tough yeard jobs to the light stuff. Another funny thing is that I'm planning on orderin a Desert CE Endura. Small world.

haha, nice one hateman!

I like that the plain edge part on the combo edge isn't chisel grind, makes it more versatile for things like push cuts. I ordered a tan handle Endura(combo only) to see how I like it. If I don't I get to debate between plain or spyderedge again, woohoo! :D
