Hi you guys and Jerry
I got a SOD few days ago ,convexed and polished the edge. the SOD is my first knife that made of SR77.

When i sharpen it , feels very very easy to sharpen ,i slice some cardbord with my SOD and i got some light spots on the edge.

i have never been putting it into real use , and i wanna know that what you guys think the retention of SR77?

In comparision with 5160 ,1075 ,1095 and SR101 , how do you set the SR77 in when tallk about edge performance only?

The edge retention on SR77 isn't bad, not as good as SR101 or INFI. Where it excels is its toughness. It is really really really strong. Nice knife!

Sadly, I have never really used SR77 hard. and the only SR77 kife I have is my wife's and she won't let me tough it. So I cannot help you there. But I would be interested in your testing. Also, make sure it is the edge and not a burr that you are seeing. Some steels can have a bur on the edge that doesn't want to go away after you try to sharpen it. SR77, being a very flexible steel may be one of those. post some pics when you can.

I have both a Yardkeeper and a Mountainmandu.

Both have seen som heavy use. And both have kept a nice edge.

In a very desperate situation, I actually used the edge of my Yardkeeper to strike a firesteel repeatedly. The edge was fine after a very light touch up.
(The desperate situation was a 'one stick fire contest' against several Norwegians and a Swede)
