Edge type for REX 45

What are your thoughts on the best edge for REX 45? Is it designed to have a course or fine edge for best performance?
 
What is your primary use? If it is to cut fibrous/abrasive materials (rope, cardboard, etc) I would go with a coarser edge (400 grit). If it is for woodcarving, the finer the edge the better.
