Every spyderco I've ever bought has come with the edge-u-cation sheet. Do Byrd branded knives not come with the edge-u-cation sheet? I just bought this byrd crow 2 from an online vendor and I kind of think they gave me a knife someone returned. It wasn't in the plastic baggie and it has no sheet. It has tons of marks on the G10. I've bought chinese made spyderco's (tenacious and persistence) and never had issues like this. It's also really hard to open. Much harder than any spyderco I have ever bought. It has a pretty sticky lock too. The hard to open and sticky lock would probably go away in time though. Thoughts?

I hope it was a returned item, it doesn't look too great :(

Def exchange it and I'm sure Spyderco doesn't want their customers getting brand new knives looking like that. I mean, my Byrds didn't come museum quality presentable :p but they sure didn't look like that.

Def looks used or really bad quality control so prob the former and not the latter. Get a replacement for sure.

someone to use then return a knife of that caliber?

You gotta remember that we're knife guys... Too the rest of the 95%-99% who buy knives, $30 and below really is what they buy and rarely much higher.

I do not have studies to back that up lol but that's what I see all around me at work, with friends, etc. I don't even tell acquaintances how much my knives are anymore lol. I'm born and raised in your area BTW. Moved to Stockton for school and its even worse here...nothing but gas station knives here in people's pockets.

Yeah, I'm going to return it and get another spyderco cat. I don't really like the the hump in the handle of this Crow 2. Other then that, I would have got another one.
