OK I know this must have been discussed alot before, but I ran a search and couldn't find it. Do the differences in the Pro model as compared to the Apex really grant any worthwile good things? (Besides the stones which can be bought separately). Is the Pro stand really much beeter than the Apex two-stick stand? What about other features? Worth the extra money to go Pro? Thanks

The Apex is very well made, and should give most people long use.
Can't tell you about the Pro.
One thing, if you have not used this sharpener, there is a learning curve.
It will take you a few try's to get really good at it, but it is worth it.
There is nothing yet that will take the place of my Apex.

I bought my Apex from Ben at the Eugene show a few years ago. I was set to pay the extra $ for the Pro thinking it was better. Ben told me that the Pro is designed for someone who sharpens knives everyday. For me, he recommended the Apex. I figured he should know so I bought the Apex.
Works great with a little practice. But it helped to watch Ben and get a lesson from him.
