I have recently taken a liking to Kukri's but I really know very little about them. I have been looking and reading about them for a good while now, but I was wondering what other people thought of them? I spend most of my spare time hiking(soon to be quading) in the bush on the west coast of Canada, so it needs to a good quality blade that will take abuse like my Esee and Busse knives do. I was going to pull the trigger on a Killa Zilla the other day, but then I realized there are likely other options that are almost as good for far less($675).

I have seen Cold Steel, Ontario and Busse Kukri's but I really dont know one from the other. I would like a good quality sheath, but I could always have one made if I had to. Any insight or direction would be awesome.

There are Khukuri's & then there are KLO's (Kuhkuri Like Objects). The real Khukuri's are even spelled different. A KLO is usually spelled kukri or Khukri too. The "real deal" Khuluri is usually MUCH thicker at the spine. 1/2" or more. I have 2 KLO's. They work awesome. The Ontario Kukri (1/4" thick) & a Ka-Bar Kukri. They are both excellent blades. But they are NOT true Kuhkuri's.

Himalayan imports sub forum is the perfect place to start,I have 2 blades from them, both 20+ inches,1 is 39oz the other is 51oz,immense chopping power and durability.

I was hoping for something 17-20 inches in total length, that I can pair with a much smaller blade for the wilderness. Nothing too big to pack around but big enough to chop whatever I need.
