My EDC rotation has been dominated for a long time by inexpensive ($20-30 range) folders, mostly Kershaw and Gerber from China with "meh" steel, and since it looks like the Kershaw Camber isn't going to see the light of day as soon as I hoped, I decided for the first time to take a closer look at the HK line. I'm not looking for anything tactical in nature, just something straightforward with steel that can hold an edge for a while, steel or titanium liners, and an uncoated blade without serrations. I always assumed the entire HK line had black coated blades and usually saw them pictured with serrations, so I was a bit surprised to find that the Blitz is available in a plain edge satin version. I also thought the whole HK line was imported now, which of course isn't the case.

Reviews seem to be mixed out the Blitz, as well as on the BM Torrent which I gather it shares a lot in common with. I've read a few comments about weak assist, weak locks and chipped blades, but the vast majority of reviews don't mention these sorts of issues. What has been the experience of BFCers with the Nitrous Blitz?

The Blitz was the first Nitrous A/O model published and makes for a good EDC knife. It's slim and, easy to carry, and the blade is a slicer. At an affordable price point I'm surprised it's still in the HK catalog. I owned one in PE satin and liked using it - and had no issues that I can recall. Compared to the Torrent, which is an odd looking knife, IMO, the Blitz is the better choice.
