Picked up a CRKT Minimalist Bowie tonight and I'm wondering what the purpose is for the little spring-loaded thingy that slides on the neck lanyard???

Slides up and down to tighten/loosen the size of the lanyard loop at the attachment point. nice little neck knife.

Why would the loop size matter?

To adjust how far it hangs down off your neck. I must have taken mine off. That is a handy little knife. I still carry mine occasionally.
