Hey guys, this is my first post on the Bladeforums. Turns out I registered over 4 years ago but am just now getting around to posting. I must have signed up to be able to "search" or something, I dunno. Anyway, once again I was feeling the need for a new EDC knife and found lots of good info/opinions here, thanks a bunch!!

Here's a quick picture of my new Paramilitary 2 with it's new family. The Delica was my first "Clip Knife" of many. The Military, the new guys big brother, is still one of my favorites, I carry it every day for work. The Blur is being put out to pasture in favor of my new off-duty knife the Para 2.

Excuse my poor photos, I badly need a tripod... ...better light, talant, etc.

The Para 2 is a great little knife, I just got it a couple days ago so we're still in the "Honeymoon Phase" but I think it could be one of my favorites. I'm not in love with the compression lock, a liner lock is faster for me to close and plenty strong but it isn't a deal breaker mine is very smooth and locks up solid. Normally I prefer a tip up carry but the tip down just feels right on these, I switched the clip around for about 5 minutes and then put it back the way it came. One other thing, and this is a nit-pic, the large lanyard hole bugs me, it looks like those big ear loops that kids stretch their ear lobes out with... ...I guess I don't see the point of a lanyard anyway and the hole seems excesive. Overall though I love it, it's light, fast, great grip, good looking, great feel to it. I'm a recovering Benchmade user, I bought/sold a 950 rift a while ago, and recently bought/sold a 520 presidio... ...the axis lock is great and all but I don't like it, can't explain why, they just don't have any character/soul.... ...maybe that's weird.

Anyway, that's about it. The Military is one of my favorite all time knives and I'm going to get another one before they "improve" it with the Military 2 (you can't improve on perfection). I'm tempted by the Fluted Titanium but will probalby just get antother black/black G-10. There's also a couple other spydies that I may have to try.

Thanks again for all your help here. Lots of good information here and Mr. Spyderco himself even drops by every now and then, that's great. Let me know what you think of the family.

Nice collection, and nice gun. I see you have an older Delica. How is that working for ya' ?
If you want to get another military, maybe get the Titanium version. Having two of the same thing has always seemed odd to me.

it's called a pre-need replacement or a backup. With shipping times of a month or more, I'd like to have an immediate replacement for a knife I like so much if I lost or damaged it. Sometimes models are also discontinued. Get it now?

Hey man....just stating my opinion.

The Delica has been retired for years now, it's the knife that got me hooked. I replaced it with a Mini-AFCK in the mid '90's. The old Delica is kind of a Dinosaur now but it was really ahead of it's time back then, all the folding knives I had before the delica were nail-nick and 2-hands to open. The Spyderco came along with one hand opening and the handy clip and made a pocket knife a "must have on me" item.

I have to admit, I found Fluted Titanium for under $200 so I Pre-Ordered one. We'll see how it is I guess... ...I'm attracted by the coolness of it but really it's more money, hevier, and I've never cared for frame locks so it doesn't really make sense to buy one.

Exactly, I want to have one for a back-up before they come out with a new model that's not as good.

I wish I had a box full of Liner Lock AFCKs in my closet!!!
