I've been using eezox gun care exclusively for my firearms and knives for awhile now. I'm running out went to re-order and notice they now have a "knife" blended version. I asked the web support what the difference was and he pretty much didn't know.... is it any better "for knives" ? I stand behind eezox products 100%. I went through 2 months of hell and humidity with hurricane katrina and none of my knives or guns rusted "except 1 old shrade-sharp finger skinning knife"

Eezox hands down best protectant , Gun-butter best lube. so back to the question is it worth the extra price for knife version ".95 oz bottle of knife vs 4oz bottle gun care price wise" they have it in spray but I hate spray lubes/oils. wondering if maybe the knife version is more rub-off/abrasion resistant or if it's just a re-labeled with higher sticker priced gun care formula

I'd be interested in knowing as well.

I performed my own very unscientific tests with nails that were left in fresh sea water for days at a time, just to give me an idea of what the best rust protectant was.

Eezox (regular blend) won hands down, no question. Whatever is in that stuff works VERY well as a corrosion inhibitor.

I also was impressed with Break-Free (from the bottle, did not test the spray). Although not as good as Eezox it is still very good and widely available.

I expected great results from Corrosion-X but was somewhat disappointed.

The others (Ballistol, Boeshield, FP-10, etc.) showed rust within a couple of days minimum.

The biggest disappointment of all was Militec. Not much difference at all from the untreated test sample.

Keep in mind that I tested this stuff about 4 yrs. ago or so, I have no idea whether or not any of the formulations have changed re: each individual product.

I've also asked the customer service about differences and was told the only difference was the proportion or concentration of the chemicals used. But they didn't tell me exactly what the effects were. Honestly I would probably just keep on purchasing the larger and more economical gun care than the knife care kit as both have been more or less the same for me.
