Effect on value of Original HellRazors?

Until just recently Hell Razors were fetching a premium on ebay and the exchange. It has been a while since Busse released a long gone knife in virtually the same configuration, but this is what they have done with the Hell Razor (got my email today:D). What's your guess regarding the effect this will have on the price of the original HellRazors for sale?

Well... I will say that since i scored a few of these new ones, that I won't be shopping for any of the older ones unless I catch a real deal... But where the price was at, right before the announcement, wasn't having me jump on one then either, so I imagine that the original HR's will be right back up there in price soon enough. There will be more demand than what's being released this time around.

I doubt the price/value will be effected that much, if it is it will be short lived.

I wonder if it will create a price disparity between the Hell Razors and the Mud Razors.

I am notoriously poor at predicting the future...but I KNOW how good a Hell Razor is...I use my Beloved Hell Razor for everything. And I think that the value will hold if not increase as more folks get to own and use one! :D Just my 2 pennies' worth!

A girl needs a knife...and I loves my Hell Razor!

It has been my observation that this will be the case. Usually there are not enough Ganza knives to strongly affect the market in the long run.

Seems to be standard. Re-released as variations on the theme. Nukes, clip points, new colors for handle and/or blade but NO copies of the original releases. Just an observation. Small, temporary effect on "value" of 1st HRs. Pete

Price is probably affected by overall Busse production more.

When I first started buying Busses a few years ago, there were no knives on the market at all.

The shop is "bringing it" now.

I'm fairly certain prices are going to plummet and they'll be selling for around $175 on the Exchange. If you're worried about your investment and need to insure yourself against loss, I'll be happy to buy a HR off you for $200 to $225. I only do this out of the goodness of my heart.

Your a giver:thumbup::p

I don't know what Jerry's definition of "very limited quantities" is, but that was the description for both of the ganza hell razors. My guess is there will be little effect.

As Jerry did recently with the SFNO, dropping a few into the trough I mean. It may not effect the prices, but it will certainly build awareness of past models and a lust to have them. Of course encouraging desire is the magic of Busse marketing (besides the fact that INFI is superior to other knife materials across the board.)

Damn, Guyon. You beat me to it. The pork-fu is strong with this one.

I think so too. This is an exceptional knife and if memory serves me well, the Hell Razor was the very first Busse knife that introduced the all-new Corrugated Bevel Technology. Even though it is not one of the oldest models, I believe it's already a classic. Besides, owning the original means just that. Have you seen the prices on the SHBM's? Have they gone down in the long run? Not at all. Admittedly, there is a number of people who order knives during the various Canza's only to put them for sale even a month after that Ganza looking for some fast profit. Their choice. I intend to keep mine though (yes, I did get my e-mail) for some time ;).

If Jerry does not specifically state that a knife will not be produced again, then I fully expect to see it come back around in the manufacturing rotation. On recent LE's he has stated that they will not be produced again. On standard production models he has not. That is why I do not pay a premium to buy standard models on the current manufacturing protocol list as collector's items. (If I had an immediate need for one as a user, however, then price premium would not stop me.) Also, you can't assume that variants and mil overruns will be seen again.

I expect that we will see HR's and SFNO's again. Someday.

The HR hasn't gotten its proper due until recently. I bought both of mine off this forum for reasonable prices and have been shocked with what they are going for recently. They deserve it though because they are better than the SJtacs and equivalent to the SFNO (I say this only because I don't have one and saying this makes me feel better).

Regarding the SFNO comparison, the originals were sabre grinds and the recent addtions, both custom shop and combat grade, have been full height flat grinds, so I don't think they are a direct parallel to the reissue of the HellRazor. The recent release of the Hell Razor is only different in coloring, which is much less of a substantial change.

I've wanted one for a while, but wasn't going to pay $600, when I already have several SFNOs (which I regard as similar though superior:p -- sorry couldn't resist). But the ganza price of $342 was a whole nother story:thumbup:

Early on I purchased two hell Razors usedand then sold them to fund other Busse knives. That was a big mistake. I find them to be the best Busse users. I purchased a a mint mag handled new one off the exchange two days before the Ganza for 600 bills with nice leather sheath.

But I love it!

I also order several Ganzaa knives to spread the cost.
