I am finally going to start taking non refundable deposits on all new orders. The deposit will only be enough to cover materials needed. Sorry to have to do this, but I can`t keep eating the costs on cancelled orders, especially after they have been confirmed.

Not enough, you should ask more to cover work done too...

Glad to hear it John.

There is no reason not to take every possible measure to make sure you don't get screwed out of income.

Good deal!

Life is too short to have avoidable hassles.

Good for you!!!

Best

A sign of the times I'm afraid & I don't blame ya one bit.
Ya gots ta do what'cha gots ta do.

Sounds like a good plan.

And if you want a deposit for my August TK order just let me know and I'll send it over ASAP.

It has to be done. Not fair that you should have to eat the cost of materials cause someone can't live up to their end of the deal.

I just wish I had a few extra bucks to put down on a new order. Kid going to college = no money...

It is the right thing to do, John. That won't bother honest people and perhaps those folks who are bothered wouldn't be particularly good customers anyway. On my 2 knives - just tell me how much you want and when. I have no issues with that approach at all. Smart business move. ;)

I'll check my email - not a problem in the least and happy to do it too. You might have to holler at me though because I'm working overtime today and tomorrow so might not come up for air until Sat morning.
