Paul conceptualized the Apache on paper in January 01', to meet the needs of a man who wanted a thrower, fighter, and field knife all in one.

Ehlers' distinct flair marks the profile and geometry of this incredible knife. While the drawing included high and deep hollow grinds on both edges, we chose shorter convex grinds to maximize the strength required in a throwing knife, as well as get the weight we wanted for penetration.

A massive handle thrower by design, this knife balances just behind the center point toward the handle and is amazingly fast in the hand.

Most handle throwers require that the mass weight is more toward the front or tip. In this case however, even though the weight is more toward the handle, it performs flawlessly as a handle thrower...we can't figure out why!!!:D:D

The one pictured, made in our custom shop by Ranger Justin himself, will be available at the NY Custom Show. The Branton Knife Company is considering Ehlers' Apache as a production model. Paul will be at our table to discuss the design features and inspiration of the Apache.

Enjoy and see you in NY!!!
